Being petite (5'3) with a short torso and narrow shoulders, I never gave the kimono-trend a chance. I was worried the drapey fabric would overwhelm my frame.
I'm a very emotional person; I know what I like and don't like-- there's no in-between for me. When I shop, I rarely find something I feel excited for. I always have a specific style, cut, print, or color in-mind that I am looking for and cannot/hate to shop without an aim. Over the years, I've found this helps curve excessive shopping and makes the experience less about consuming and more about curating my individual style.
I would wear it with a more tailored white dress like the one on the right (ZARA) to balance out the casualness and add some dimension to the look. I am frugal so there isn't a big divide between my play and work clothes. This outfit would be something I would wear to school and to my internship (tech).
